Grey Street

Breakdown:
blouse- TJ Maxx
skirt- F21, thrifted [similar]
shoes- Liz Claiborne [similar]

Here I am wearing my new-to-me faux leather skirt again! I paired it with a basic grey tee, but with a little twist. What I love about stores like TJ Maxx & Marshall's is that you find things you would not find elsewhere! I am always in search of basic tees in colors that I wear all the time like white, grey, and oatmeal. This grey blouse is super soft and the hi-low hem makes it more interesting than your usual run-of-the-mill tee. It has a ladylike shape, perfect for pairing with tougher items like a leather skirt. The balance of a genteel silhouette and hardcore materials is a fun mix.

PS: I've also worn this blouse backwards and loved it the same! Two shirts in one? Best purchase ever.

Romp + Float

Breakdown:
romper- Target, old [similar]
sandals- Nine West [similar]
shades- Kensie [similar]

A friend recently purchased her first romper, which surprised me a little. I was under the assumption that everyone had a romper or jumpsuit... but I was wrong! I've had this baby for a while. See it last on the blog here in 2011. I loved it then, and I love it now. Wearing a romper can be fishy as far as balancing the amount of skin showing goes. I like this one because the short hem is balanced by long, loose sleeves. It can be difficult to find ones that do not make you feel like you're walking around in your skivvies. Some things are made to survive your seasonal closet clean-outs, and this is one of those things.

Hustle & Bustle

Breakdown:
tee- The Elizabeth Chronicles [same <--on font="" sale="">]
skirt- F21, thrifted [similar]
loafers- DV Dolce Vita via TJ Maxx [similar] [similar]

It is so disappointing when I wear an item in my closet to pieces for months before it actually shows up here on the blog. This tee is one of my faves! Aside from being super cute with regular outfits, it is a gym/yoga favorite of mine. On to less disappointing things, this faux leather skirt! I remember stalking it on the F21 site last year wanting to order it, but not being sure about my size and all of the online purchasing anxiety that comes, you know. Worse than online purchase anxiety is the frustration in the actual F21 stores. Is it just me or do they put heat lamps in there? And goodness, the lines! Anyway, I thrifted it the other day and was ecstatic when it fit! I knew I wanted to wear it immediately and with everything! The mess that happened in my closet when I got home was monumental. I won't even apologize.

When you find something you've been looking for and it seems like it was left there, just for you, and in your size, enjoy it!

Little Señorita

Breakdown:
dress- thrifted & up-cycled [similar]
shoes- Tabita via TJ Maxx

There are few moments when I shop that I immediately fall in love with something I see. When it happens, though, it is a beautiful thing! I am usually practical with my shoe selection, buying only pairs which I can wear with much of my wardrobe. But the instant I saw these heels... it was love.

Did I have a clue how to incorporate them into my wardrobe? No. Could I instantly think of 3 or more ways to wear them? No. Did I forego the inevitable leaver's remorse (the opposite of buyer's remorse) and bring them home anyway? Yes. They made me happy, and sometimes that's all it takes.

Besides, they make me feel like doing the cha-cha... and there's nothing wrong with that!
