Maastricht

Gosh, to think that these photos were taken over a week ago blows my mind! Time is passing quickly when I look back and all I have done since landing in Amsterdam just over two weeks ago. On October 31, my rental-brother & I took the train to Maastricht for the day. He had to do something for school for a bit and let me tag along (Thanks, Christo!).

While he went to a meeting, I wandered around the Bonnefanten Museum. They were changing exhibitions most of the rooms, so I got to see some of the remains of the main exhibits, but it was still cool. I love going to museums, but they are always touch & go as far as how interesting the exhibitions are to me. This was so-so, but a good way to waste some time!

I have fallen in love with the city of Maastricht! The weather was unusually warm that day so that probably helped a bit. Everything was so quaint but it was still on the larger side as far as cities go. When you Google pictures of southern Holland, it is exactly the same as Maastricht. Quaint, beautiful, unique, and relaxed. We walked around the main shopping area a bit, bought chocolates at Leonidas, and strolled along the old city walls. There are a million city squares in each town here, so it was nice walking around to see them and see people out & about. The last photo above is of an old cathedral that is now a bookstore. Basically it was bookworm/history buff Heaven! We had glorious pizza at an Italian joint and made our way home. It was a gorgeous day to be out... and we were greeted back in The Hague by all of the Halloween party-goers. Drastic change, to say the least!

Saw this beauty in the park... IN THE PARK.
