One Friday afternoon, we packed up and headed to Brugge, Belgium for the afternoon. On the way out, we crossed the border into Germany for fuel (first picture), then went on our way. It was the coldest day I have experienced so far. Wind, rain, and cold cold cold. But Brugge was beautiful! Belgium is completely different from Holland. The minute you cross the border, you can feel it. The architecture is more ornate, due to the predominantly Catholic influence. I stocked up on Belgian chocolates to take home and ate a Belgian waffle #notimpressed, as well as getting a bag of Leonidas hazelnut & white chocolate treats for myself. Uh, yeah, those did not last long. Brugge is definitely on my list of places to return to... in better weather.
