And Bears... Oh My!

sweater & oxford- thrifted
denim- Blank Denim
boots- Clarks [similar

As I sit here, weeks after these photos were taken, wearing the same sweater, I am virtually patting my Mom on the back for thrifting it. Now all I can think about it that I have not blogged regularly in the last weeks. Life takes over sometimes and does not allow for everything. Posting outfits and, let's face it, taking the actual outfit photos, has not happened. Even when I do have time, my motivation is not there. Truthfully, I read and work on my computer all day, so coming home to work on it more sounds like torture. I want to be back, and I want to want to be back.

In the meantime, go to the thrift store and find a cozy sweater! You won't regret it.

dress- H&M, old
ring- thrifted

You know those weeks where your schedule is so packed that you don't eat dinner until almost 10pm? I've had a few of those in a row lately. Luckily, the frigid cold weather is gone and the birds are chirping at all hours. Okay, so chirping birds waking me up at 2am isn't exactly ideal, but I'll take that over wearing countless layers just to avoid being cold. Spring colors are warming me up with the sun and I am knocking out a few tasks so I can spend some time on my much-missed couch. I miss my DVR, my slipper, and my house coat. Ha! Grown up problems.

Country Mouse, City Mouse

overalls- Carhartt, thrifted
sweater- G.H. Bass
hat- Banana Republic Safari, thrifted [similar]
sandals- Bandolino

The juxtaposition of this outfit completely encases the battle that is my everyday life. Staying warm and looking cool, street clothes vs. work clothes, and country vs. city.

This look = me

Side note: I would like to thank the chickens for a truly potent blog photoshoot experience.

Neutral Party

sweater- Gap [same]
pants- J. Crew [same]
shoes- Liz Claiborne [similar]
headband- made by me

Maybe it's the episodes of Gossip Girl on Netflix between classes that is making me remember that I love headbands, or the awkward winter state in which my hair is, but I miss my collection of head gear! I wore them constantly a few years ago but after one too many headaches by mid-day, I gave it a rest. They are slowly creeping back into my regular rotation, barring that I will only wear them for a few hours. Long school & work days are out of the question, but a few errands or just hanging around the house is perfect. We have been having an unusually cold winter here in LA and my sweater collection has been growing as a result. I like a steady mix of neutral ones I can wear all the time and fun ones that are not regulars. This cream cowl neck sweater is great for layering and a brainless pick for early mornings! Sometimes, neutrals are just the way to go.

I am taking this week off from posting outfits since the weather is being wacko. Raining and 70 one day, clear and 40 the next. Needless to say, outfit planning is out the window and my supply of Mucinex is dwindling. Ahhh, the end of winter, how you try my patience so. Instead, I thought I would share some of my favorite recent pins that keep catching my eye each time I look at them. Enjoy!

What has been inspiring you lately?

For the adventurer in me:

For what I would wear instead of leggings & chunky sweaters:

For my pre-spring color scheme:
My hair gets darker in cooler months and the extra bit of brown around my face with the lightness of my skin                 requires makeup color changes. Raspberry has been my go-to lately.

For who I am in my imagination:

For the love of Donald Sutherland:
