As I type this, it is probably 25 degrees out and windy. The day these photos were taken, the day began at a temperature of 70 and ended up around 50. Louisiana weather… the culprit of the mass sickness going around. Doctor's love it, patients hate it. At least it keeps life interesting!

Despite the warm temperatures, I wore warm layers on faith. The softest flannel shirt in my closet and a warm Irish knit sweater were light enough for the morning and heavy enough for the temperature drop. These jeans were an after-Christmas gift to myself after about a month of looking for a new pair of skinnies. My usual brands were not fitting me the way they have in years' past, so I resorted to reading reviews online and only looking at shops with good return policies. I ordered this BlankNYC pair after rave reviews on Piperlime and an endorsement from Olivia Palermo (and who am I to question her?). I was excited to try them on the second they landed on my doorstop and have worn them nonstop in the few days since! These are more like leggings, so they are very soft and stretchy-- perfect for more wearing and less washing-- and a dark shade that I did not have in my closet before. I highly recommend them, though they do run small.
