Beetlejuice (Beetlejuice… Beetlejuice)

Breakdown:
sweater- Gap [similar]
skirt- Madewell [similar] [similar]
tights- ???
boots- TJ Maxx [similar]
necklace- thrifted

This outfit came to me during a late-night-can't-sleep-outfit-plan time and, I have to say, I like it. Pencil skirts are not my usual thing, but wearing a long, chunky sweater balances out the strong print and tight fit of the skirt. As a petite gal with curves, proportions are always important! I tried pairing grey tights with this outfit and they looked okay, but my boots cut off my leg at a weird place. I switched to black and the monochrome effect made my legs look longer. I truly have no clue how people just "get dressed" in the morning and put on whatever they feel like. Dressing for your body type takes time, effort, and lots of trial and error. Sometimes I look back at past outfit posts from when I started this blog and cringe at what I wore! I look at how much I have grown and developed my personal taste and like what I see.

Though I am sure I will look back on some recent outfits and cringe too… but not yet.

  1. Love the striped skirt, I like the sweater+skirt. I wore a striped skirt in my last post as well :)

  2. Hi. I agree. It takes time and effort to work out what we suit, what works and what doesn't. Sometimes its only when we look back at the photos in the past we see how our style changes. I love what your wearing. I'm a big fan of bright colours. I got your details from Fashion and Faith. I will follow on twitter and pinterest. Are you on bloglovin?
