First of all, this outfit is from Thanksgiving Day. Shows how on top of things I am, right? Life has been more hectic than usual lately with end of the semester projects and everyday things. Honestly, when I spend all day on the computer at work and school I usually don't want to spend time editing photos and writing a blog post when I come home. It gets tiring at times and, over the last year, I have seen so many bloggers decide to leave the blog world or take extended breaks. I have yet to get to that point, but have been on the verge a few times.
But then I try to think about the good things about blogging! I have met some great Internet-turned-real-life friends. I love keeping track of my outfits for my own memory. Have I worn this before? Oh yeah, I wore that a year ago to do… I like this online visual diary that shows just a small part of my daily life. Without blogging, I would not have challenged myself as much fashion wise. I probably would not be in school for design. Heck, I probably wouldn't even know what a topknot was! Kidding, I'm not that sheltered.
Balancing real life and Internet life has been a challenge since starting school. I have yet to get the hang of it, but I might have a better idea of how to handle it next semester. As I take my last final this afternoon I will walk out excited to go home and do nothing.
Anyway, it was freezing Thanksgiving Day and the only way I could handle taking pictures was to put on my biggest coat! I have had it for about 8 years and it was the first coat I bought with my own money in high school. I rarely get to wear it because of our usually mild winters so I wasn't complaining about the sudden burst of icy air we had that day. And special family gatherings call for a vintage pillbox, no?
