Coast to Coast Style: Emerald

Breakdown:
dress & blazer- c/o Merci Beaucoup
belt- vintage
heels- Bandolino
jewelry- thrifted or gifted

In honor of Pantone's Color of the Year, Dani and I thought that it would be the perfect time to feature it as our March Coast to Coast Style theme! I scored this emerald blazer in early February along with this dress and have been itching to wear both of these pieces! It is finally warm enough to wear this dress without tights and a turtleneck underneath... which I totally would have done. #turtleneckfever

Combining the emerald shade with neutral colors seemed like a great combo, and the bone color of this dress was just the ticket! I added touches of gold to play with some visual interest, and the pinch of maroon [fashion term: oxblood...ew] on my feet was another touch of color, but still staying away from the holiday red and green.

Putting color schemes together can be difficult when you come across a shade you don't often wear, but all you have to do is look around at combinations that already exist, and change the saturation or depth of a color to make it more interesting.

Dani's version of emerald style is perfect for those April showers coming up! I love a good Hunter boot, and the original Hunter green is a great choice for long-lasting wear. Dani stayed true to her California style with a cool, loose-fitting tee, opaque leggings, and layered jewels.
