A bit ago, I saw a photo of Helena Glazer of Brooklyn Blonde which she posted and fell in love. It happened in an instant, my love for her playful take on navy and black. I love seeing people defy social conventions by breaking the fashion rules!
No white after Labor Day.
Never wear black and brown together.
Wear tights with close-toed shoes.
Pshhhhhhhhhhhh who needs it? Not I. Which is why I knew I had to show my take on wearing navy & black together! I kept it fun with the textures-- faux leather, silky, knit, sparkly-- but also classic with the color scheme. So I challenge you, ladies and gentlemen, to break the conventions, particularly in the arena of color schemes, and own it!
Those people staring at you in the grocery store because you are wearing a black dress with brown shoes? *hair flip*
PS: I should note that my 6-year old cousin, Kay, informed me that my shoes were "FASHION!" Life goal, achieved.
